Valley Spokesmen club ride leaving from San Ramon Central Park and heading up to the Mt. Diablo Junction Ranger Station before descending the north side into Walnut Creek. After a refreshment stop at Sweet Affair bakery we returned via Alamo and Danville.
To get away from the heat, our group began in a nearby mountain village, Moncham. We were soon enjoying beautiful views and the low clouds provided a nice, moody mist for the hike. Please not that the meeting point and lunch spot are improperly listed on the map. A limitation of the site I guess.

Valley Spokesmen club ride starting at the S. San Francisco BART station and riding to the Union station by way of Crystal Springs Rsvr., Canada Rd., the Water Temple, Woodside, Palo Alto, Dumbarton Bridge, and Fremont.
Valley Spokesmen club ride billed as particularly suitable for tandems. Leaving from Diablo Vista Park we headed down Tassajara to Highland and took Carneal, Manning and N. Livermore to the Starbucks on Portola. After a refreshment break we returned up Collier Canyon to Highland and then retraced our route back to the start.
We said that we would set out 'early' for this trip to avoid the worst of the heat. So at 10.30 am (not quite the crack of dawn) we set off on our bikes. The gps certainly helped in the rural area with navigation through the villages and paddy fields. We rode with the mountains as a backdrop, very beautiful scenery.
NorCal Bicycle Touring Meetup trip starting at the Ferry Building at the end of Market Street and heading over the Golden Gate bridge and up to Samuel P. Taylor State Park for a stay at the Hike&Bike site in the campground.
