The trail to Hanging Lake begins at the Hanging Lake Rest Area, which is located in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado along I-70.There's a small cave near the parking lot.And there are several interpretive signs explaining the history of Glenwood Canyon and the constuction of I-70 through the area.

Since parking at the trailhead was $10 per vehicle, we decided to park at the church in town and walk to the trailhead. While Tara and I were waiting for Anthony, Arianne, and Kevin (they missed the exit), we decided to play around on this nifty playground toy.Anyway, on our third or fourth spin, Tara scraped her knee pretty good. Off to a great start. This hike came recommended by a cousin.

We just hiked around. Nothing special. No trail.
For a stake activity, the Curtises took several of us on a hike up the Pahvant Narrows in Richfield, UT. We parked the low-clearance vehicles near the freeway and carpooled to the base of the hill. We then hiked along the road until we passed the waterfall, then we dropped down into the canyon.
Overview: Zebra Slot Canyon is a very fun, family-friendly (we brought our 10-month-old) hike in south-central Utah. It's less popular than Peek-a-Boo Canyon or Spooky Canyon, which means you don't have to deal with as many crowds. The hike is not as scenic as some, but it's still very pretty and very much worth the hike.
Calf Creek Falls is one of the most well known and unique features in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The trail follows Calf Creek to the 126' high falls. The hike is 6 miles round trip and takes average hikers 3-4 hours. Elevation change on the trail is minimal, but the trail is sandy and walking can be strenuous, especially in hot weather.
