Bleaklow Stones from Ouzelden Clough

Story
The great advantage of Ouzleden Clough is fast and fairly easy access to Rowlee Top with great views over Derwent and later , Kinder . On a day like this even the tussocky top is part of the charm , and the bracken hasn't sprouted much yet.....
In fact most of the ascent is up Alport Grain , and I took the easy route up the hillside and over the stile. The rest of the day was just a pleasant wander up the Alport valley , through Grains in the Water to Bleaklow Stones , and return by following the Westend Valley . The road walk is a bit long , but the views make up for it .
When I went up the moors were still open , but on a fire hazard level 4 . They were literally tinder , including much of the peat . In such conditions smoking , using stoves and even leaving bottles or glasses in the sunlight could be disastrous .Limited parking is possible at Ouzelden Clough when the road is open for access .
