Story
Every year the new students in the National Astrophysics and Space Science Programme - www.star.ac.za - embark on a hike on Table Mountain as part of their pre-academic year summer school programme. This year we began in Newlands forest, headed up to the contour path and then up Newlands ravine. Unfortunately, due to heavy cloud cover, an assent of Devil's peak was not possible, so we took the high level parh around the mountain, finishing at the Block House and then back through the forest to the Newlands Forst station.
