Story

The hike can start almost anywhere along the circuit. I decided to start from the north of the village. You soon enter the edge of a cane field on a grassy track which soon turns into a trail going through a vanilla plantation. Then you cross a gully that you'll cross again a bit further up to get on the GRR2 trail which will slowly lead you to the gîte. It won't be long before tec-tecs (Reunion Stonechat) come and see what you're doing inside their territory. It rained on that day, but luckily only during the lunch break at the gîte. To go back to the village by a different route, you can simply walk almost all the way back down on the forest road before taking back the GRR2 just before reaching the old unused bridge at the edge of the village.
