Story
The ride was actually planned this time, but I left my gloves at home and had to head back. The goal was 50 miles, but due to the fact my tires were low and I couldn't figure out how to use a Presta Valve. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presta_valve I had no idea my bike had these. I sat sadly on Grant's Trail with my bike upside down watching a You Tube video from the maker of my pump. It turns out I could have done anything I could think of and it still wouldn't work. You have to unscrew the valve to get it to allow air. When I arrived home my Dad and I figured it out. The tires that were supposed to be up to 90lbs were at 35 or so. Geesh. The ride took me to Grant's Trail, Reavis, Telegraph, JB Park, Broadway and then I found 3rd Street. What a delight! It leads right to the River Trail I missed last time. Weather was good and the Metro ride to the Shrewebury Station rocked. Missy picked me up. Ok, so next time I need to ensure my tires are pressured properly and I have all my gear. 50 miles next time.
