This was my first trip into Bear Brook State Park, an area I have long wanted to visit. Nearby Pawtuckaway is a favorite of mine so i wanted to experience this one as well. I had planned a longer hike up and around Bear Hill but a phone call midway through the hike made me shorten my trip and head home. For that reason i skipped most of the geocaches. The mosquitoes and horseflies today were fierce. We had had three days of heavy rain, so they were out for a meal. As it was I had a quick 6 mile hike and got a feel for the southern portion of the park. This area had some good sized marshes and some uplands. Lots of blueberries in these woods!
