Story
This was the third snowshoe trek the day in the Crawford Notch area and the only one where I had my GPS with me. I was joined by Sandy, Don, Nancy, Michael and Evelyn. We were not able to venture into the narrow valley as we had hoped as it was getting dark. We did find some very pretty viewpoints of the Dry River along the way. The temperature on this day was single digits with a moderate breeze. After we finished our mini-trek Don, Michael and I attempted to find the Dry river cache. We got within 200' of it but it would have involved an icy river crossing which none of us were even remotely interested in doing, especially with little chance of finding it in the 4' deep snow base.
