Middlesex Fells Reservation is surprising. It is wihtin sight of the Boston skyline. Yet it has some rough terrain and enjoyable trails. My favorite is the Skyline Trail which follows the highpoints from north to south.I got caught a couple times attempting to bushwhack and got turned back by some ledgy terrain I couldn't climb. Not much snow left in there.
