Pre-game family walk with the dog.

Big rhodie covered with moss. Coming down the trail. Base of a big Douglas fir. Map

Family walk with the dog... Combination for 2 miles from the Klahowya trail head.

** Portion of Beaver Loop along north end of ponds obliterated by the beaver pond ( the beavers have extended their earthworks to flood the trail). There is a crude bypass that is flagged and fairly obvious. The track for this trip follows that bypass.

The beaver-flooded section of trail looking back to the east. The beaver-flooded section of trail looking back to the east. The north beaver pond looking west. The north beaver pond looking west. Map

Stringing together another route on the north end of the park... There are a lot of combos and variety for shorter hikes on the north end. One of these days I'll have time to start hiking the south end (the loops are much longer in that section).

Took the dog on a rainy evening and walked the perimeter trails in the southern half of the Illahee Preserve in East Bremerton. Basically, I started at the Almira Drive parking lot and headed directly east to the park border.
