Story

Rather different weather conditions from last week on Kinder , and rather unseasonable too . But a strongish breeze made it pleasant.I couldn't resist the 747 shot , and such sightings are  common nowadays . When it's like this the trip is a doddle , and feet can be kept dry even on the upper part of the Snake Path/River Ashop . My route diverges from the Snake Path at the end only because I was finding the sun oppressive , so I cut up through the wood .

Take plenty of water . Although the heatwave made it rather obvious , there isn't in fact much water easily available on the moors at any time , as most of the sources are infused with peat and sand when flowing, and there are quite a few sheep too . There are some springs (largely over Bleaklow way ) , but even here I exercise caution nowadays . A Millbank bag and a Steripen seem to be effective .
