Story

From Kings Tree via Bull Clough to the tops , then a scenic route to eventually join the path to Swains Head . Return by the banks of the Derwent , with a detour to the higher levels near Hoar Clough when it got too wet for me . The final section is on the high-level track back down to Slippery Stones .A dry and warm day with excellent visibility , and just made for leisurely , almost aimless , wandering . Numerous hares , an owl  flying down Bull Clough , most likely short-eared , meadow pipit and golden plover . Curlew heard but no sight.

The bracken is now gearing up for summer ......
