Story

It’s better not to start late in order to have a clear view
of the Piton des Neiges (SnowPeak) considered to be the highest point in the Indian Ocean. Usually by 10 or 11 am it’s totally
surrounded by clouds. I started my ride at 9 am at an altitude of 500 meters with
a temperature of 20° C and went
up the sugar canes west of the RempartsRiver. When I stopped for
lunch at an altitude of just above 2000 meters within the clouds, the
temperature had dropped down to 10°
C. The Piton des Neiges was constantly in view at a distance shifting between
18 to 25 kilometers.
