Story

A leisurely trip around Lowell Lake. This time with my neighbor who is a science teacher so we noticed many plants and animals along the way, from turtles with orange shell interiors to spiral stemmed water plants. My neighbor got to see a big snapping turtle below the surface. Though I never got to lay eyes on it, we tracked it for quite a while as it released air bubbles as it prowled along the bottom. There was no question where it was when we saw the lily pads move on the surface! I really was fun tracking a turtle. A first for me.

Polarized glasses make seeing below the water surface so much easier and opens another world to explore. I didn’t have any this trip and missed them.
