Story

Good trip overall. The goal was to hit 50 miles, but I came up short by 4 miles .. ran out of time due to having people over. I had never ridden near the Mississippi River, so this was a treat. Highlights:1) Broadway into the city. A bike lane went all the way into downtown, which made riding awesome. 2) The VP Fair parade was getting ready to go, so I was able to bike on the downtown streets that were closed. 3) The visitor's center in Forest Park was an absolute oasis. AC, restrooms and a place to refill water bottles.  4) Litzinger was horrible. Probably the worst road I've been on. No space, curvy, hilly and boring. 5) The best was early morning, fog lifting and seeing the Clydesdales from Budweiser eating. I learned that distance road riding isn't an issue. The weather wasn't great with 90+ degrees and high humidity. It felt ok when riding, but when I stopped it was hotter than anything.
